Notre-Dame Cathedral is still standing after the fire!
Notre-Dame Cathedral should reopen to the public in December, 2024, but guided tours won't be possible inside before the beginning of 2025.
Notre-Dame cathedral is a true symbol of Paris: the construction started in the 12th century, several big events took place in it, and it was still in use with several services per day... until the fire in April 2019.
Pictures of the spire of Notre-Dame collapsing under the flames were shown all around the world. A few years after the fire, the cathedral is still standing, and the renovation works started, to rebuild the roof and the spire.
The inside of the Cathedral will remain closed to the public for several years, but we can still admire it from outside, and learn how it became such an iconic monument of Paris. This will be a great opportunity to discover the Ile de la Cité, and learn all about the history and architecture of the Cathedral.
This private tour will help you learn more about the story of "Notre-Dame de Paris", and see what happened since the fire.
Why do I love leading this tour?
"Notre-Dame cathedral is such an important place in Paris and in France. I used to lead tours very often inside, so I was struck by the damages after the fire in 2019. But I found it amazing that most of the building is still standing, more than 850 years after the beginning of the construction. In 10 years, this will probably just be one of the events in the long story of the cathedral ;) "

This tour is taking place only outside, around Notre-Dame cathedral, so we can do it every day, at any time, even at nightfall, for great views along the river.
We can combine this tour with the Ile de la cité walking tour, or/and with the Conciergerie and Sainte-chapelle, for a more comprehensive tour about the history of Paris.
This walking tour around Notre-Dame cathedral is accessible with wheelchair or stroller. Please note that there are some areas with cobblestones or uneven floor.
