Learn more about the French military history with this private guided tour of Les Invalides, to discover this iconic monument.
Designed under Louis XIV to house disabled soldiers and veterans, the "Hotel des Invalides" was first used as a military hospital before becoming the Army Museum in 1905.
After exploring the majestic courtyard of Honor, a masterpiece of classical architecture designed in 1675, we will visit the Soldiers' Cathedral, Saint-Louis-des-Invalides.
Finally, we will admire the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte in the Dome Church, to learn more about this key figure in French military history.
Why do I love leading this tour?
"It is always a pleasure to enter in this beautiful courtyard, that no one can see from outside, to understand the transformation of this old hospital into a museum, and I love the serenity of this tour, far from the usual crowds".
Please choose the date and time you want for this tour, and fill in the form.
I will get back to you by email to send you a detailed quotation.
If you want to learn more about Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine, I would suggest visiting the Castle of Malmaison, a few miles away from Paris.
A tour of the Invalides in the morning and Malmaison in the afternoon could make a full day tour about Napoleon, and I will be happy to guide you in both places.
Unfortunately, the tomb of Napoleon in the Dome church is not accessible in wheelchair as there are several stairs and no elevator.
If you are looking for a tour "off-the-beaten-tracks" in Paris, the Invalides is the perfect choice for you: there is never a line, and you can enjoy a peaceful visit in this magnificent setting.
