In the Conciergerie, come to discover the old Palace of the French kings, that became later a prison during the French Revolution. This is where the queen Marie-Antoinette was kept for a few months, before being beheaded on the Concorde square in Paris.
You will discover some impressive medieval rooms, as well as the former royal kitchens, and some memories of when it was a prison for Marie-Antoinette.
Then, let's marvel in the Sainte-Chapelle, so famous for its stained glass windows! It was a build in the gothic style during the Middle Ages to keep some relics of the passion of Christ, including the Crown of Thorns.
Why do I love leading this tour?
"The Sainte-Chapelle is really a hidden gem in Paris, and I love when the sun makes the stained glass windows reflect on the building. As for the Conciergerie, I used to work there when I first started to work as a tour guide, so I have a special attachment to this place, and some good memories of night openings!"
Please choose the date and time you want for this tour, and fill in the form.
I will get back to you by email to send you a detailed quotation.
The Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle can be visited one after another, or separately. I advise you to combine this visit with a private tour of the Ile de la Cité, to learn more about the history of Paris, and to discover Notre-Dame cathedral (from outside)
The Conciergerie is not accessible in wheelchairs, as there are several staircases to get to the building and to visit it.
The Sainte Chapelle has a spiral staircase of 33 steps, but there is an elevator if needed.
